KS4 Options
During Year 9 all students select their preferences for the qualifications they wish to work towards at Key Stage 4. The vast majority of students are encouraged to choose the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) subjects in addition to choosing options from a wide variety of Key Stage 4 subjects.
The Academy’s options process ensures that all students follow a curriculum that is right for them, while remaining as broad and academically rich as possible.

Options Subject Information Evening
In the spring term, there will be an event for students to attend with their parents and carers where they will be able to speak to option subject teachers who will be able to have more detailed conversations about what each GCSE entails.
This will take place on Thursday 16th January from 4.30pm-6.00pm
The Options Process
After Year 9 parents evening, students and their families will be invited to consider their options preferences carefully and complete an Options Preferences Form.
During the second half of the spring term, all students will be invited to a short meeting with a Senior Leader where they will indicate their preferences, recieve advice if necessary, and finalise their options preferences.
Options will be confirmed in the summer term, subject to changes to the timetable.
