Community
We welcome our role as a key institution in the local community. For our Academy, this role is both a physical and human one.
From the outset we have made our building accessible to local networks and groups, and have already housed meetings of local residents groups together with Safer Neighbourhood and Neighbourhood Watch meetings. If you would like to hold your non-profit organisation meeting at the building please contact us at the email provided above.
We work hard with our students to make sure they understand the role that they play in the local community, and that the expectations that come from being a Harris Sutton student do not magically disappear at the school gates. Assemblies and Tutor Time set aside sessions on how to behave safely and considerately in the wider community, and members of the Academy Leadership Group regularly patrol bus stops, local shops and traffic crossings to support our students and the community. We would like to hear from you if you feel that our students have not represented the academy in the manner we or you have come to expect.
Transport is a key focus for our Academy. With such a small catchment area it is our goal to reach 90% of students arriving via foot, public transport or by bike. For students that are dropped off by car, we work hard with our families to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum. When we hold large events, we always consider the concerns of local residents in our planning and aim to minimise any disruption as far as is possible.
If you have concerns regarding inconsiderate parking you should please raise these with the local council at:
