Key Stage 3 Assessments
Key Stage 3 Assessments
Students in years 7, 8 and 9 will sit assessments in January and June which will provide an opportunity for teachers to check how well their learning has been embedded. Results will be shared in students' progress reports, which will be published on MCAS at the end of the sping and summer terms.
Mid Year Assessments
KS3 mid-year assessments will take place during lessons during the week commencing 6th January. Revision lists to support students’ preparation can be found here.
Full details about assessments will be included in a letter home to all parents before the end of term.
Students will sit assessments in all subjects except PE, music and performing arts. Computer science and Spanish listening assessments will happen in class time around the assessment week. Those students that study Latin will take an assessment in their normal after-school session.
Equipment
Students must have their full equipment with them each day for their assessments (including black pen, pencil and specific maths and science equipment such as a calculator, ruler, protractor and compass). They will not be expected to have a transparent pencil case.
Students will only be set revision-based homework the week before their assessments. If your child is absent for any assessments, they will take them on their return to school. If you have any queries, please contact your child’s form tutor in the first instance.
Revision
Resources to support with revision can be found elsewhere on the website on our Revision Strategies page and our Raising Achievement Page (KS4 focus, but hopefully some useful items for some students and families).
