Behaviour

What is our vision for Behaviour at HASU?

We have a culture here of ‘highest expectations’.  We expect all HASU pupils to act and behave in a way that is conducive to producing the best possible learning environment.  It is built upon one of our founding principles: integrity.  All members of the Academy community are expected to act with integrity, showing respect, taking responsibility and always being honest.

It is from this platform that all the fantastic achievements of pupils here are made.  We believe in a policy of positive recognition and have an innovative and thriving rewards system to re-enforce this whenever possible.  Any behaviour that does not meet our expectations is challenged to ensure to there is no disruption to learning or achievement.

We always aim to work with our pupils and their parents to establish the vital positive relationships that are fundamental to ensuring the ongoing success of our pupils.

How do we encourage fantastic behaviour for learning?

Behaviour in the classroom is underpinned by 'The 5 Ps'. These five principles are reiterated and celebrated in our classrooms and provide a foundation for our classroom culture.
